Special seminar of the Institute for Environmental Studies IIb

Class at Faculty of Science |
MO550OS2B

Annotation

The seminar has three main objectives: (i) regular meetings of students and staff, (ii) presentation of the results of Master's thesis, (iii) guest lectures and discussions.

The first objective allows for personal contact of members of our institute, consultation on current issues or announcing news.

The second goal is to prepare those students who are concerned in the current semester to defend their theses. Presentation of their results allow to improve the data processing or interpretation of resulst before the work is submitted. The valuable experice is also the performance in front of the audience, when pretendents will experience public articulation and the reactions to critical comments. The presentation of the diploma thesis at this seminar is therefore obligatory.

The third goal of the seminar is to introduce students to environmental protection in a broader context. Invited guests come from domestic and foreign institutions and are unique in each semester. Lectures can be delivered in Czech and English language An important part of each lecture is a discussion where students are expected to actively respond to presented themes. The minimum requirement for each student is one question per semester. We would like to remind you that there are no stupid questions and that the opportunity to talk to some of the speakers may not apear anymore.

The program of seminars for the current semester is published on the notice boards and on the Institute website.
