1. Introduction - examples of papers and their presentations. 2.-10.
Student presentations. 10. General conclusions.
A journal club-type seminary is intended for students who want to practice and enhance their abilities to read and present scientific literature. During the course, every student reads one or more recently published papers focused on a conservation topic and presents their main ideas for the remaining attendants.
We collectively discuss strengths and weaknesses of the paper presented with a special emphasis on implications for conservation practice. Presenting student also receives feedback about the quality of his/her talk.
We hope that the course facilitates our input of hot news in conservation science and helps to improve our presenting abilities. IMPORTANT NOTE: Even though the whole course is in English, we do not expect that attendants will show excellent skills in this regard.
Instead, it may be considered as an opportunity for practicing and improvement of scientific English, and it is open for beginners.
