Annotation

The prectice is a part of the lecture "Limnological methods" and is focused on practical training of limnological methods used in the study of standing and running waters. Students compile a bathymetric map bsed on their own measurements a hypsographic curve and a volume curve. They will learn methods of quantitative (representative sample) and qualitative sampling of zooplankton, determination of species composition, abundance and biomass of zooplankton, determination of chlorophyll-a content, determination of primary production. They will be acquainted with methods of sampling benthic organisms of running water by semi-quantitative kicking method, quantitative method, habitat differentiation, drift, determination of benthic organisms.

Practice takes place at the Hydrobiological Station UK Velký Pálenec.
