Annotation
The course is focused on the presentation of the development of social environment of Prague from the perspective of social geography. The development of the city, its population and spatial growth, the internal socio-spatial structure, the position of Prague in the system of Czech and European cities are evaluated.
Attention is also paid to the current development of the city, city administration, urban planning and relations within the Prague Metropolitan Region. The second part of the course is devoted to specific problems of the current development of the city centre, inner city, housing estates and suburban zone of the Prague Metropolitan Region.
Members of the Urban and Regional Laboratory (URRlab) work as lecturers. The final seminar presents the current projects of the research team focusing on Prague and its metropolitan region.
So called student's micro-projects are part of the lectures.
