Students will become familiar both with the approaches and concepts employed in political geography and with the subject matter dealt with by political geographers. It is expected that by the end of the semester, students will have a thorough knowledge of the practice of political geographic analysis and an in-depth critical understanding of selected issues to which the tools of political geography may be brought.

We will not only use the approaches of political geography to analyze issues such as geopolitics, imperialism, states and nationalism, but we will also deal with current global issues such as environmental degradation and environmental politics, political geography of war and peace, new world order, nationalism, local politics and other issues.
