2. Separation methods - mechanical disruption - extraction - precipitation - sedimentation and centrifugation - filtration, dialysis, molecular sieves - distillation - lyophilization - crystallization - chromatography (gas, liquid, HPLC, IEC, gel, affinity, thin layer) - electrophoresis

Annotation

The course provides introduction to the principles and use of basic chemical and technological procedures used in the preparation and storage of biological samples. The course is in the form of lectures and practical demonstrations.

Themes: Importance of separation methods, classification and selection. Extraction, precipitation, centrifugation, dialysis, filtration, reverse osmosis, chromatography (types), electrophoresis, crystallization, distillation, lyophilization. pH measurement, oxygen concentration, preparation of liposomes.

Cell cultures, tissue models.
