NBCM150

Syllabus

Principle of atomic force microscopy (AFM), applications in biology, manipulation with nano-objects. Introduction to Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), super resolution microcopies: STED, PALM, STORM. Overview of nanomaterial manufacture techniques and their limits.

The attendance at lectures (at least 60%)is conditional for credits, exam is oral.

In the case of excessive absence, it is possible to obtain credits for the correct 15 min presentation of one of the topics of the lecture.

Attention!!! First lecture is on the second week of the semestr.

Annotation

This lectures will give general overview of techniques which have a resolution in the range of nm. Overview of interesting nanomaterials, their properties and possible use. Suitable for students of master studies.
