Syllabus

Types and properties of nanocomposites (filling factor, electrical and optical properties).

Synthesis of nanocomposites by means of vacuum-based techniques (simultaneous deposition, sputtering in combination with plasma polymerization, use of metal-organic precursors, nanoparticle sources).

Fabrication of nanostructured materials (PVD, CVD, PE-CVD, GLAD, etching, lithography...).

Growth of nanoparticles (nucleation, coagulation, coalescence) and their synthesis by means of vacuum-based techniques.

Carbon nanotubes, graphene.

Electrospinning.

ALD and MLD.

Properties and applications of nanocomposite and nanostructured materials (plasmonics, wettability, bio-applications).

Annotation

Introduction to nanocomposite and nanostructured materials, their properties, synthesis and applications.
