The seminar is adapted to up-to-date needs of all participants. Typical subjects cover:
- Introduction of and experience with seismological software: Coulomb 3 (calculation of static strains and stresses), Axitra (calculation of complete wavefields for point sources using the discrete wavenumber method), Isola (point-source moment-tensor inversion of complete wavefields), Integral (calculation of synthetic seismograms for kinematic models of finite-extent sources), etc.
- Explanation of internet repositories of seismic data and their use (K-Net, Kik-Net, ORFEUS, CESMD, etc.)
- Literary seminars on newly published methods and results.
The seminar is a platform for introducing existing software, which is of interest in seismological practice, as well as for exchanging experience with its use. The software will be adopted from external sources (usually open-source codes) but also software developed at the Department of Geophysics, MFF UK, will be exchanged among participants.
An important part will be also literary seminars devoted to new interesting methods and approaches in seismology.
