1. Plasma in external fields Effect of external fields on the plasma. Distribution function disturbance, division of Boltzmann kinetic equation, collision term. *

2. Transport phenomena in plasma Plasma in constant electric field, drift velocity, mobility – derivation and experimental determination, conductivity. Plasma in alternating and microwave field, propagation of microwaves in plasma, plasma microwave conductivity, plasma frequency. Diffusion and ambipolar diffusion, derivation of diffusion coefficients, Diffusion in various configurations and the influence of magnetic field. *

3. Advanced discharges in plasma Spark discharge, gliding arc discharge, capacitively and inductively coupled discharges, dielectric barrier discharge. Plasma jets. High pressure discharges and their ignition. Discharges in liquids. Plasma chemical processes and technologies. *

4. Plasma based light sources Low pressure light sources, fluorescent tubes, low pressure sodium lamps. High pressure plasmatic light sources, construction and operation. Plasma displays.
