- Van der Waal systems

- Frustrated magnets, including triangular, Kagome and pyrochlore lattice materials

- Layered magnetic systems

- Magnetic shape memory systems

- Crystal growth

- Magnetic property measurements

- Thermodynamic measurements

- Structural characterisation

- Cryogenic techniques
