2. Demagnetizing field. Physical fundamentals and consequences. Critical dimension of single-domain particle. Demagnetizing factor. Corrected magnetization curve. Operating point of a permanent magnet.

3. Survey of modern materials and technologies. Physical requirements for properties of hard magnetic materials and technologies used.
