What means the system with correlated f-electrons - condensed matter (CM) with ideal crystal structure containing atoms with f-electrons, particular examples, important physical properties.

Electronic structure and tight binding method - introduction, discussion and application of the method.

Model hamiltonians - selected types of model hamiltonians?- Hubbard, Anderson.

Density functional theory - introduction, modern methods of electronic structure calculations of CM.

Crystal field - introduction of the model hamiltonian, particular examples.

Magnetoelastic coupling - discussion in the framework of the localized and itinerant electron models.

Discussion of experimental methods of study of energies and wavefunctions of f-electrons - magnetization, susceptibility, specific heat, inelastic neutron scattering.

The particular form of syllabus is possible to adjust with respect of research interest of listener.
