Syllabus

Morphology, structure and real structure of nanoparticles. Simulation and generation of nanoparticle clusters. Magic-sizes clusters.

Generalized Debye scattering function, theory, derivation. Calculation of scattered X-ray intensity for different types and sizes of nanoparticles using DSE.

Small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), drazing incidence small-angle X-ray scattering (GISAXS), theory and applications. SAXS and GISAXS measurements, processing and evaluation of measured data.

Total scattering - pair distribution function. Theoretical description. Practical aspects of PDF measurement. Laboratory versus synchrotron sources. Application of PDF to various types of nanoparticles.
