Introductory Seminar on Sciences of Earth

Class at Faculty of Mathematics and Physics |
NGEO090

Syllabus

Seminar consists of four parts, each one comprising three to four lectures devoted to the following branches: geophysics, satellite methods of the Earth research, meteorology and astronomy. Each lecture is linked to a specific topic of bachelor (or master) thesis offered in the current academic year.

Annotation

Seminar organized jointly by several MFF departments dealing with experimental and theoretic physics of solid Earth, atmosphere and ionosphere. It allows students to familiarize with these branches that are practically not treated in lectures of the first two years.

At the same time, these branches have long tradition and dynamic development, both from research and teaching points of view at all levels of the faculty studies (bachelor, master and doctoral). Attendance of the seminar may help to choose a topic of the bachelor or master thesis.
