Knowledge of the following will be expected: Presente de Indicativo, Pretérito perfecto simple/indefinido and Pretérito perfecto compuesto (hablo, hablé, he hablado) - basic forms and usage, Imperative, and the differences between SER - ESTAR - HAY. Will be revised and practised in detail all through the course.

- Futuro imperfecto (hablaré)

- first conditional

- object clauses with the preposition SI

- AL + INFINITIVE for simultaneous actions

- prepositions PARA and POR, and preposition A for expressing distance

- conjunctions PERO, SINO, SINO QUE

- Imperfecto and its usage

- contrast between Pretérito perfecto simple/indefinido and Imperfecto -

- EMPEZAR A, DEJAR DE, ESTAR A PUNTO DE, ACABAR DE, VOLVER A + INFINITIVO

- Adverbs - revision and practice

* Communication and vocabulary

- accommodation at a hotel - booking a room, contact by email, services, problems in the room, asking for help or for a favour

- understand inscriptions and signs

- describe the past and the life in periods of history

- speak about life changes

- talk about technological developments and inventions

- react to news

- use correctly adverbials of time
