A) Basic wave principles. Perturbation theory.

B) Internal and external gravity waves, lee waves.

C) Inertial oscillation, Rossby waves.

D) Mixed waves, frontal waves.

E) Equatorial and coastal waves.

F) Hydrodynamic instability: Taylor type and Helmholtz type of instability, Kelvin-Helmholtz instability, barotropic and baroclinic instability, Eady-like and Phillips-like models of baroklinic instability

G) Basic atmospheric energetics notions, available potential energy, Lorenz cycle.
