Station measurement, problems with station automatization. The representativness of the station, remote sensing methods. Model outputs in climatology, problems with comparison of model outputs with observations. Data formats, database, sources of data in the internet.

Selected statistical programs used for climate data processing. Basic principles of GIS, application of GIS.

What is homogeneity and why is it necessary to homogenize data. Selected methods of detection of inhomogeneities and homogenization.

Climatic factors on agriculture, climate suitable for agriculture cultivation, basics of phenology. Meteorological hazards in agriculture. Forest climate.

Energy from alternative sources - solar and wind energy, evaluation of climatic conditions.

Annotation

The subject is devoted to following topics. Various data types, their character and sources in climatology.

Introduction to the use of statistical software and GIS for processing of climatic data. Homogeneity and homogenization. Basics of agroclimatology. Problems of alternative energy sources – solar and wind energy.
