Syllabus
Some problems of contemporary school mathematics. Argumentation and reasoning, communication and the symbolic language of mathematics. Teaching methods and forms; constructivist approaches.
Different didactic approaches to teaching topics:
• Sets, statements (inductive and deductive procedures, proofs and proving).
• Number, variable, parameter; numerical fields.
• Functions and their properties.
• Trigonometry.
• Equations, inequalities and their systems.
• Problems solving, applications of mathematics.
Annotation
Objectives of teaching mathematics at lower and upper secondary school. Cognitive process, formal knowledge, constructivist approaches.
Analysis of concept and content of individual parts of school mathematics including teaching methods.
