Selected topics: microhardness measurements, electrical resistometry, differential scanning calorimetry, creep testing, acoustic emission, thermal characterization, positron annihilation, X-ray diffraction, microstructure observation (metallography, scanning and transmission electron microscopy).
The aim of the course is to introduce the experimental methods used in current materials research. The course is focused on structural, mechanical and thermal properties of the lightweight alloys.
Interesting methods will be demonstrated on modern apparatuses that are used in a real-life scientific work. Training will be organized as lectures and tours of laboratories (KVOF, KFM, KFNT and KFKL).
The course is intended for the students of the master study (physics education) and for the doctoral students of Physics education studies (4F12).
