Syllabus

* Aim of the course:

Educational psychology is a field of psychology which the future teacher needs as a fundamental grounding for his profession. This course brinks basic knowledge of educational psychology and its applications in the school.

* Content of the course: 1.Definition and methods of educational psychology. 2.Learning. Process of learning, learning theories. 3.School achievement. Socio cultural handicap. 4.Evaluation I the school. 5.Motivation. Cognitive needs, motivational strategies of student. 6.Relation teacher - student. 7.Risks of teacher's profession, burn-out syndrome.

Annotation

The course is the first part of a two-semester module of educational and social psychology - the module is aiming to equip students with the basic psychological knowledge and skills necessary for their future profession. The content of the course is organized around the key topics in which the knowledge of pedagogical and social psychology are intertwined.

The content of lectures will be primarily focused on theoretical knowledge, seminars will focus on developing teaching skills.
