Final essay on pedagogy is a precondition for taking the graduation exam in Pedagogy and Educational psychology.

Annotation

Final essay on pedagogy is a precondition for taking the graduation exam in Pedagogy and Educational psychology. It is not possible to write the Final essay before the 2nd term and after the 8th term of study. It is concluded by a classified credit.

Students can register for the final essay at teachers of particular pedagogical disciplines within the pedagogical and psychological preparation module. After arranging it with a concrete teacher, students put their names in the appropriate list of the ESA system (electronic student agenda) under the relevant subject (code: 02214032). If need be, they arrange consulting their essay with the teacher.

Final essay can take the form of:

- historical and comparative work

- theoretical and empirical work

- translation from professional literature

- portfolio from School practice

In the theoretical and empirical work or in the historical and comparative work, the student proves skills as follows:

- formulating a problem (the basic question, the work is striving to answer)

- correct work with references (at least three independent theoretical sources), including the elaboration of bibliography with sources quoted in accordance with the valid bibliographic norm

- explicit and logical structuring of the work

- characterizing the used methods of research and explaining their choice (if need be characterizing the corpus)

- analysing and appropriate interpreting of acquired data

- deducing corresponding conclusions from acquired data

- using appropriate professional terminology

Structure of the final essay:

- title page

- contents

- annotation (maximum 8 lines)

- key words (maximum 3 lines)

- text part of the essay (with well-arranged structure)

- list of bibliography

- supplements (numbered, titled and with noted source)

Minimum extent is 15 standard pages, without title page, tables, diagrams, bibliography, and supplements. (In the event of translation, the minimum extent depends on the teacher.) Also a term paper that meets the requirements of the final essay can be accepted.

The deadline for submitting the final essay depends on terms mentioned in "Karolinka" for the appropriate academic year.
