Syllabus
1. Úvodní informace (termíny setkání, jejich obsah, podmínky k zakončení kurzu, struktura a náležitosti prezentace).
2. Typy prací, jejich struktura a charakteristika jednotlivých částí včetně nejčastějších chyb, odevzdávání prací - podatelna + SIS.
3. Formální náležitosti závěrečných prací.
4. Kvantitativní pedagogický výzkum - literatura, základní metody sběru dat.
5. Kvalitativní pedagogický výzkum - literatura, základní metody sběru dat, vyhodnocení.
6. Literární zdroje, jejich vyhledávání, citace.
7. Statistické vyhodnocení kvantitativních výzkumů.
Annotation
"Master Dissertation Seminar I" is designed for Biology students of the Faculty of Education, Charles University in Prague, however, only for those of them who plan to defend their master dissertation from the field of biology. It provides students with complete information about content and formal requirements of the Department of Biology and Ecological Education on the final appearance of a master dissertation as well as on the way of its development (see the departmental web site for the following documents: "Pokyny a doporučení k vypracování bakalářské a diplomové práce na katedře biologie a ekologické výchovy PedF UK v Praze", "Postup hodnocení magisterské diplomové práce", and other useful info).
Nevertheless, the main part of the seminar is focused on individual steps of "The Scientific Method" and discussion about procedures in relation to a master dissertation project.
