These lectures acquaint students with various textual levels of the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament. It is focused on significant units of Hebrew Bible, including the study of the creation myth, Adam and Eve, Kain and Abel, the myth of the tower of Babel, the myth of the Flood, Exodus, The Covenant, Biblical Patriarchs, Joseph novel, the role of prophets, Job and Ecclesiastes (i.e.
Preacher). All topics are interpreted with the emphasis on their anthropological testimony.
The explication concerning the New Testament stresses the difference of concepts of man in the Synoptic Gospel, St. John's tract complex, St.
Paul's and St. James's epistles, Deuteropaulines and General epistles.
