Reading and literary education as integral parts of the school subject Czech Language at 1st degree of elementary schools and special schools. Overview of reading-lesson and literary-education curriculum on these types of schools, optionally information about modifications for auxiliary schools and special centers. Briefly: about history of didactic methods of reading, bearing in contemporary approaches. Overview and evaluation of contemporary textbooks of primary learning and contemporary reading-books for 1st degree of elementary schools and special schools. In detail: phases of reader´s skills, types and forms of reading in lessons, interpretive possibilities of work with reading-book texts. Issue of common off-reading-book reading and individual reading. Singularity of contemporary literature education, exploitation of mass media influence.
