Cílem kurzu je charakterizovat specifika krásné literatury a seznámit studenty se základními literárněvědními termíny a kategoriemi, jež jsou ilustrovány na textech angloamerické literatury (krátké básně, povídky a úryvky literárních děl). Kurz se především soustřeďuje na rozvoj schopnosti analyzovat vybrané texty po stránce jejich formální výstavby.
