Annotation

The subject follows or resp. complements the subjects of Ecology, Selected Environmental Issues and Environmental Education Seminar. An important part of teaching is to get acquainted with school gardens - examples of good practice. By blocks

1. Introduction to the problem. Structure and function of managed ecosystems (agroecosystems) including interactions of internal biotic and external socio-economic processes on model example "natural school garden". Agroecosystem - agroecosystem X natural ecosystem, basic concepts (additional energy, substance cycles, habitat, ecological niche, biomass, etc.).

2. Garden as model agroecosystem. History of school gardens. Eubotic Movement. School gardens as natural classrooms and places of relaxation abroad as well as in the Czech Republic. Outdoor lessons. Ornamental schools. Forest nurseries. Garden therapies.

3. Natural gardens and their characteristics. How to Certify a Natural Garden. Permaculture. Stone gardens. Vertical gardens. Moss painting.

4. Biotopes, habitats, game and educational elements, model organisms in the school garden.

5. Four elements in the school garden. Garden for spontaneous and creative activities of pupils.

6. Financing school gardens.

7. Competencies that can be developed in the school garden.

8. Research activities in the school garden.

9. Production of natural materials in the school garden.
