Syllabus
1. Hereditary and constitutional factors.
2. Family influence.
3. Social influence (schools, groups of equals, subcultures, media) on children and juveniles.
4. Possibility of predicating and preventing delinquent behaviour.
5. System of care of child and juvenile delinquents in the Czech Republic.
6. Foreign models which can be used during the reform of care of at-risk juveniles in the Czech Republic.
Annotation
The course reveals possible cause of adolescent criminality and current strategy of adolescent criminality prevention. It is based on the violence phenomenon.
It deals with issues of inheritability and predetermined delinquent behavior of children caused by family, school, peer groups, subcultures or media. Moreover, it explores current development of adolescent criminality in the Czech Republic and in other countries, ways of intervention and programs of primary prevention.
