Syllabus
Communication (stages of the process of communication, expression and content). The present state of phone, phoneme and alphabetic character.
The aspects of the study of phonetic system: articulatory and acoustic phonetics. Phonology.
Suprasegmental elements: dynamics, rhythm, melody. The functions of stress.
Reduction. The classification of phones (the place and technique of articulation, vocal cords engagement, soft and sound correlation) and vowels.
Combinations of phones: accommodation, assimilation, dissimilation, diaeresis. Knowledge of intonational types of Russian sentence.
Orthoepy. Transcription and transliteration.
Annotation
The course provides systematic outline of the basic perspectives of contemporary Russian phonetics from the linguistic point of view with several digressions to psycholinguistic perspective. Students master the phonetic system of contemporary
Russian in Czech-Russian comparison theoretically as well as in practice. They learn about basic rules of writing and orthography and their realtion to contemporary Russian phonetic system.
