Syllabus

Comprehensive preparation for teacher profession from the respect of mastering practical language, which includes language means (phonetic and graphical aspects, vocabulary and grammar) and all language skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing). Practical language studies is a subject that undergraduates attend throughout their whole Russian language studies and is closely related to all the other subjects. The development of knowledge of Russia, its geography, life and institutions (possible Czech-Russian comparison). Practical language studies course has an important role in developing professional pedagogical skills (of future Russian language teachers). 1st year - The compensation and extention of secondary school Russian language skills. Mastering lexical-conversational topics (speech etiquette, CV, emotional and intelectual life of a person, character and appearance, occupation, clothing, health, family). Complex development of receptive and productive language skills, mainly reading and listening comprehension and dialogue forms of oral expression. Mastering of Russian pronunciation and orthography. Reading of daily press in Russian.

Topics for oral and written practice: 1st semester

Speech etiquette (types of introductions, aquaintance, saying good-bye, expressing invitation, request, advice, agreement and disagreement, suprise, oral and written form of expressing misunderstanding, congratulation and condolence, gratitude). Curriculum Vitae. Emotional and intellectual life, features of character and description of a person's appearance.

Annotation

Comprehensive preparation of Russian studies undergraduates for their teacher profession and/or for a corresponding specialized profession from the point of view of their mastering practical Russian language. Apart from the complex language training there is also emphasis on knowledge of Russian cultural, economic and social background.
