Syllabus
1. Hereditary and constitutional factors.
2. Family influence.
3. Social influence (schools, groups of equals, subcultures, media) on children and juveniles.
4. Possibility of predicating and preventing delinquent behaviour.
5. System of care of child and juvenile delinquents in the Czech Republic.
6. Foreign models which can be used during the reform of care of at-risk juveniles in the Czech Republic.
Annotation
The course reveals possible cause, current structure and strategy of crime prevention of adolescents. It deals with issues of heredity and social determination of criminal behavior, influence of family, school, peer groups, sub-cultures and media on children and adolescents.
It shows current development of criminality of young people in the local environment as well as worldwide, shows ways of intervention (alternative punishments, street social work, social integrative programs, etc.) and prevention strategy of criminal behavior of children and adolescents.
