The course is divided into following thematic areas:
1. Specific deficits in the area of so called triad: qualitative impairment in the area of communication, forms and functions of communication, alternative ways of communication, aids for visulation. Qualitative impairment in the area of social relations. Play and play skills in children with autism. Repetitive and ritual behaviour, stereotypes, problems with imagination.
2. Disorders within autistic spectrum disorders: childhood autism, atypical autism, Rett´s syndrome, other childhood disintegration disorder, Asperger´s syndrome.
3. Etiology of autistic spectrum disorders
4. Assessment of autistic spectrum disorders: screening of autistic spectrum disorders, assessment in different age stages, differential assessment
5. Education of children with autistic spectrum disorders: structured teaching, TEACCH program, applied behavioral analysis, therapies used in children with autistic spectrum disorders
6. Families of children with autistic spectrum disorder during individual life stages
