Syllabus

PERSONAL COMPUTER

- Information, information technology, electronic information

- Hardware and software of personal computers

- Main parts of the personal computer, computer memory, input and output devices

USING OF PERSONAL COMPUTERS

- Basic user skills, startup, shutdown and restart, log on to the local network, working with keyboard and mouse, keyboard layouts

- work in an operating system, starting, switching and closing programs, working with windows, use clipboard

- File system, file management, file and directory, the name and extension, file manager

WORK IN A LAN AND WAN NETWORKS

- Orientation of the structure and functions of LAN and WAN

- Internet as an information and communication space, e-communications, IP telephony, instant messaging

- WWW, information retrieval and data mining, environment and features of a modern web browser, interaction with office applications

PROCESSING TEXT, GRAPHICAL AND NUMERICAL DATA

- Elementaristics of electronic text, a string of characters, formatting characters, logical structure of document

- Creating and editing a text document in the environment of modern text editor, format characters, paragraphs, pages, section, document

- Working with templates, styles, curricula, bullets and numbering, basic search and replace, spell check, headers and footers, page numbering

- Integration object to the text, insert a symbol, text box, picture, spreadsheet, vector graphics creation, processing and sorting in the list and table

- Structured documents, citation standards, links, content, index, and lists, conversion, export and print the document

Annotation

The purpose of the course "Information and communication technology" is achieve a basic competence for effective work with information and communication technologies. The objective of this course is to contribute to create, respectively to systemize the user skills needed for work with modern operating systems, for orientation in the environment of local and network storage, for using of on-line services, and for processing more comprehensive and structured documents in an environment of modern word processors.
