Syllabus

Extended Cognitive Model of Learning Motivation and How Motivation Can Be Assessed; Intrinsic Motivation and Self-Determination, Flow, and Interest; Extrinsic Motivation (nAch, nAff, nPow); Teachers´s Reference Norms.

Annotation

The aim of the course is motivation in school-settings. The teacher should be able to assess and to influence (change) learning motivation of his/her students/pupils.

The theoretical starting point will be created with Extended Cognitive Model of School Motivation. On the basic of the above mentioned model relevant motives, both intrinsic and extrinsic one, will be influenced.

It concerns the following topics: intrinsic motivation and self-determination theory, flow experiences and interest on one hand and nAch, nAff, nPow on the other hand. Attention will also be paid to Reference Norms.
