Annotation

The subject, based on the available research results (mapping the level of the population's health status), provides arguments showing the need to seek ways to develop health literacy in the interdisciplinary context. It presents a theoretical basis for an overall concept of health, which represents a new quality in the development of scientific knowledge. Following the WHO program documents, health determinants are analyzed and development priorities of health literacy defined. Postgraduate students are motivated to analyse the issies of health, to engage in scientific research of the relationship between health and quality of life.

The subject enables to study didactic aspects of education in the area of health promotion in the context of inclusive education. It clarifies the current concept of health education in curriculum documents and foreign education programs. It introduces multidisciplinary system of health protection and safety in schools. It draws attention to the variability of strategic behavior leading to the management of health threats, it deals with forms and methods of prevention. In particular, it is a strategy of coping with auto-destructive behavior, addiction threats, civilization diseases, stress, hidden forms of violence, abuse, bullying, media manipulation, health damaging nutritional behavior. The seminars provide space for discussion on methodology and results of pedagogical research focused on health issues.
