Syllabus

Roma national minority with an emphasis on education

-      important strategic documents and legislative measures in support of Roma as national minority

-      the importance of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages

-      support for bilingualism, insufficient learning of the minority language in the combination with limited competences in the majority language as the way to social exclusion

-      consequences of language barrier in the failure of Roma pupils

-      affirmative approaches in primary school, experience from selected European countries

-      basic historical context important for the understanding of the contemporary Roma minority

-      Roma Integration Strategy 2021 - 2027 (preparation of the educational policy of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports - April 2019)  

Therapeutic approaches within the system of secondary and tertiary prevention in addicted individuals

-      bio-psycho-socio-spiritual model of addictive behavior

-      the importance of motivational conversation in the therapeutic approach

-      Harm Reduction - an emphasis on tertiary prevention

-      outpatient, institutional and stationary care for addicted individuals

-      therapeutic communities - development in the world

-      therapeutic communities in the Czech Republic, therapeutic approaches with an emphasis on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) or other psychotherapeutic directions, after-care

-      international self-help organizations

-      contemporary drug scene, substitution

Annotation

Socially disadvantaged individuals in society are increasing. Due to the long-term orientation on Romany studies and the field of addictive behavior, the course is focused on two main topics:

- Roma national minority with an emphasis on education;

- therapeutic approaches within the system of secondary and tertiary prevention in addicted individuals.
