History The course is designed comprehensively in terms of the existence of string and keyboard instruments and their impact on the development of society. Special emphasis is placed on the history and development of the piano (violin) with focus on both historical and modern instruments, their construction, research and development, issues of their technical and sound parameters, the quality and characteristics of individual manufacturers, aesthetic and economic standards, as well as maintenance and tuning.
All information is placed in the context of the historical role of the instrument in the musical performing arts, pedagogical practice and in social life. Literature Instrumental literature is studied in the context of the development of the composer's personality, social and historical events and, at the same time, also with regard to the cultural and economic development of Europe.
Part of the course includes listening activities. A main part of all aspects of the subject is an insight into the history and present of interpretive art.
Students are led to independent creative pedagogical and artistic work with instrumental literature. The course is meant as a motivational basis for future theoretical work of students, for the creation of a repertoire and for dramaturgical work.
