Choirs study:
Students will be divided into two choirs. 1) Chamber female choir Teacher - choirmaster: Jana Veverková, teaching: Tuesday 15.20-16.50, classroom C12. This choir is intended primarily for choir beginners. Other candidates from other fields can also join the choir. A chamber choir is suitable for more advanced singers. The student will print the sheet music sent in the e-mail attachment after logging in to the SIS himself. During the semester, they will memorize the assigned songs. Repertoire: K. B. Kopřiva: Salve Regina, A. Dvořák: Four Songs, Russian Songs, J. Gallus: Pueri concinite, B. Martinů: Carol. Selection of arrangements of folk songs, carols. Repertoire common with mixed choir: J. J. Ryba - Czech Christmas Mass, L. Fišer - Christmas - selection. If possible, other choral material of various periods and genres expanding the knowledge of the basic repertoire and developing the readiness to read choral parts. 2) Mixed choir Teacher - choirmaster: Marek Valášek, teaching: Tuesday 15.20-16.50, classroom C1. Mixed choir concerts in the semester: 17. 11. Karolinum - Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Dvořák, Novák 9. 12. Karolinum - Ryba, Fišer The specificity of the discipline lies in the current education of students of different years, equipped with different levels of musical skills and the degree of current solo singing or choral practice. The study of specific compositions makes it possible to obtain an overview of the choral literature of a certain choral grouping and the principles of its interpretation. The content of the course is active membership in one of the existing faculty. Simultaneously with the education of the choir singer, the subject follows the individual experience with the interpretation of specific vocal works performed with the choir on various occasions. In addition to regular participation in rehearsals and proving mastery of the studied repertoire, a condition for credit is a written review of concerts of professional choirs, as well as participation in the organization of training and preparation of the accompanying text of the concert program.

Karolinum - Ryba, Fišer Orchestral study is a necessary complement to the individual teaching of the instrument. It cultivates a sense of interplay, contributes to a harmonious and rhythmic feeling and also to the development of musical intellectual abilities. Playing in a chamber ensemble or orchestra leads the student to conscious creative discipline, enriches his musical thinking with the perception of harmonic polyphony, expands his knowledge of music literature and generally affects the student's aesthetic development.
The course is focused on the comprehensive education of a choir singer / orchestral player. The specificity of the discipline lies in the current education of students of different years (membership in faculty musical ensembles), equipped with different levels of musical skills and the degree of current solo singing or choral practice.

The course is two-semester, after its completion students can continue to develop choral / orchestral interpretation in the form of an offer of optional courses Choral Singing I and Chamber and Orchestral Playing I.
