The aim of this mostly theoretical subject is to achive at students the learning the basic terms and concepts in the field of multimedia systems, understanding the general principles and how to work with multimedia materials and systems for processing these materials and thus to create the preconditions for effective work in the creation and processing of multimedia on computer. In response to student's knowledge and skills acquired from the field of computer graphics the goal of this subject is to unify and ensure the students' knowledge and skills and the theoretical apparatus of the perception, usage and creation of multimedia.
Also to induce learning the activities required to control the multimedia PC environment including other selected equipment used in multimedia systems. The content of the course is focused on issues on the perception of sound and image, analog and digital signal processing, recording, reproduction, audio and video encoding, formats and files, compressed video and audio data and parameters of the appropriate software.
