Annotation
World Literature II.
The lecture will acquaint students with the development of literature, literary and artistic criticism during the 19th century, ie from the end of the Enlightenment, the transition of sentimentalism to preromantism and subsequently will focus on individual blocks: European romanticism, postromantism, realism and naturalism, genesis of modernism, neo-romanticism streams in art. The lecture will focus on individual national forms of individual artistic movements and streams, as well as individual authors and analyzes of their selected works. The lecture will also be based on theoretical and philosophical concepts accompanying, influencing and defining the essence of poetics and aesthetics, the essence of creation and perception of the creative act of individual artistic and cultural streams. Of course, the social context will not be left as well. Analogously to the 19th century literary ferment, the development of fine arts will be taken into account, especially in the field of painting, where mutual parallels between literature and works of art will be indicated.
