Anotace

The course complements the education of students in integrally conceived anthropology with a critical overview of modern social theories that have influenced and still influence the discourse in the sciences of man and society. Particular attention is paid to theories that enter more significantly into pedagogical theory and practice. The aim of the course is to develop students' ability to orient themselves in the current social science discourse and to introduce its stimuli into the context of education. Content definition:

1. Modernity and tradition in the context of social theories.

2. Classical social theories (Marx, Durkheim, Weber, Simmel).

3. Functionalism, interpretativism, interactionism.

4. Western Marxism and neomarxism.

5. Psychoanalytic social theory.

6. Structuralism and poststructuralism.

7. Feminist social theory.

8. Modernity and postmodernity.

9. Globalization.
