The course acquaints students with the principles of modern health care with special regard to the period of childhood. The course enables the application of knowledge from the field of health science in new contexts. Concept and organization of pediatric care - preventive and curative. Basic socio-demographic data, socio-pathological phenomena in terms of their occurrence and expected trends in the population. Documents guaranteeing the healthy development of children (Convention on the Rights of the Child, World Declaration on the Survival, Protection and Development of the Child). Threats and disabilities of various groups of children and ways to solve problems (interdisciplinary work). The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the principles of modern health care with special regard to the period of childhood on the basis of selected knowledge from pediatrics and a systematic explanation of the basics of social pediatrics. 1. Organization of preventive and therapeutic care for children and adolescents.
2. Linking the biological and socio-psychological development of children with the issue of possible damage to children's health with an emphasis on prevention.
3. Chronically ill child in school and school facility.
4. Social pediatrics as a scientific field - history, stages of cognition of a child and childhood.
