Syllabus

1. Defining the area, terminology, way of living and lifestyle, elements of lifestyle.

2. Factors of the formation of lifestyle, objective determinants (resulting from objectives, needs and situation of the society) and subjective determinants (resulting from the needs and aims of an individual) according to prevailing values in the way of life and the structure of everyday activities.

3. Differentiation of the ways of living and alternatives in lifestyle. Social (media) impacts upon the creation and changes in lifestyles.

4. The structure of lifestyle resulting from the spheres of a human life (the life cycle of an individual).

5. The system of values as a significant factor for the formation of lifestyle. Modern versus postmodern ways of living. Ways of living in a post-modern society. Restructuring of lifestyle - gender.

Annotation

The aim of the course is to provide essential knowledge of ways of living and lifestyle of the current generation, including alternative risk behavior. It presents the following issues: problem definition, terminology, ways of living and lifestyle, features of lifestyle.

Factors affecting lifestyle, objective and subjective determinants defined according to prevailing life values and structure of every-day activities. The course examines specific fields of childrens and adolescents lifestyles.
