Syllabus

1. The importance of physical activities for children and teenagers (such as leisure time activities) in order to prevent health disorders, cope with auto-destructive behaviour.

2. The problems of hypokinetic lifestyle, the importance of physical activities for health, the good health condition to prevent civilization diseases as well as children´s injuries, stress etc.

3. The physiology of load (the response of body systems to the physical load).

4. The relationship between physical activities and nutrition (causes and consequences of children´s obesity, mental anorexia, and bulimia).

5. The principles of conditioning; physical activity and somatic and mental development of an individual.

6. To motivate for development of the physical activities in the leisure time activities.

Annotation

The purpose of this subject is to provide an overall clarification of relationships between physical activities and basic aspects of health (from the holistic perspective); to promote physical activities and subsequently submit different varieties of practical strategic actions to promote health. Such actions should lead to discourage the health-endangering behaviour.

The importance of physical activities for children and teenagers (such as leisure time activities) is therefore highlighted in order to prevent health disorders, cope with auto-destructive behaviour, deal with situations that may expose the children to addiction, etc. The subject illustrates the research results related to the health condition of population, especially the children.

In connection with anatomy and physiology, the subject explains the physiology of load (the response of body systems to the physical load), the relationship between physical activities and nutrition (causes and consequences of children´s obesity, mental anorexia and bulimia), the principles of conditioning; physical activity and somatic and mental development of an individual.
