Syllabus

The subject contains the following topics:

Electrical field, its properties, quantities, bindings to components and circuits.

Basic concepts of circuit theory, electrical devices and their models, linear and non-linear elements and circuits.

Basic circuit quantities, voltage, current and power output.

Basic passive and active circuit elements.

Circuit topology, elementary analysis of linear circuits, general methods of analysis.

Kirchhoff's laws.

Time courses of the quantities in the circuit, transition process, steady and harmonic steady state in circuits.

Basic characteristics and use of selected semiconductor elements, links to digital technique.

Digital technology - Boolean algebra, implementation of logic functions, elementary gates and structures, types of digital circuits, simulation of gates and circuits, examples of applications.

Simulation of electrical circuits, work with SW and applets.

The topics are based on the intention to equip students with relevant knowledge and skills in the field of electricity and digital technology, principles of electrical circuits and their application to specific circuits including numerical solution.  

Annotation

Introduction of basic theoretical knowledge of electrical engineering, production and use of electricity including digital technology. The course includes practical exercises.
