The class introduces students into basic topics of social and educational psychology that are relevant for the work of teachers. Study themes:

1. Social perception and attitudes

2. Family, peers, and authorities as sources of social influence

3. Social groups and classrooms as a small social groups

4. Relatiohsips of teachers to students and their parents

5. School achievement - sources of school success and failure

6. Motivation in education

Annotation

The class introduces students into the basic findings of social and educational psychology with respect to the school environment. The goal of the class is to introduce students into the knowledge that is particularly useful for teachers' orientation in social relations in school and in principles of support of academic motivation and achievement.
