Annotation

The subject introduces students to the concept of reading literacy and the importance of reading for the development of a child's personality. Its goal is the development of students' receptive communication skills and the development of functional literacy in the field of reading. The subject aims to orient students in children's literature from the point of view of literary types and genres of literature and the current book market (quality publishing houses, awards for quality children's literature, portals about children's literature), to develop the interpretive abilities of listeners in this specific area, to lead students to creation of own questions, tasks and topics for activities and for their reflection, to cultivate the perception of reading as a lifelong attitude of a person. Topics:

1. Reading literacy and its components;

2. Research on reading and reading literacy, results of Czech students in the international PISA research;

3. Literary types and genres for children;

4. Current quality publishing houses, awards for children's literature, portals about children's literature;

5. Reading strategies and skills, EUR, work with reading cubes;

6. Reading workshop The subject is implemented through constructivist teaching methods.
