Introduction to the study of risk behavior, basic terminology

Abnormal, non-functional conditions affecting the course of social processes, including individual influences

Classical biological, psychological and sociological theories of deviant behavior, integral approach to the problem, basic concepts of social deviance

Risk and problematic phenomena related to family environment and family environment

Risk and problem phenomena related to the school environment and relationships with peers

Risk and problem phenomena related specifically to adolescence

Mental illness and risky behavior associated with mental illness

Annotation

In this course students will learn about people at risk. We will attempt an analysis of reasons for marginalization, learn how to recognize socially problematic phenomena, their variants and delimitations.

The course covers theories of risky behavior. We will focus on the issue of youth as an endangered social group.

Students will be presented an overview of basic concepts and approaches that will be further discussed. Particular emphasis will be placed on the issue of risk behavior in children and adolescents and phenomena related to family and school environment.
