Main topics of the course:
1. Didactics - subject, basic concepts
2. Overview of didactic concepts and examples of their application
3. Learning objectives - Objectives classification, methods and principles of goal formulation
4. Learning content - curriculum structure, curriculum documents, textbooks
5. Teaching methods - characterisation, utilisation
6. Preparation for teaching - goal setting, selection of lessons, choice of teaching methods, choice of didactic aids, structure of the teaching unit, structure of activities
7. Class management - positive motivation, working with rules, effective communication, prevention of disruptive behaviour
8. Evaluation in teaching - objectives of evaluation, types of evaluation, formative feedback
9. Individualisation in teaching - basic approaches
This course acquaints students with theories of general didactics with an emphasis on their implications to the actuall situation and usability in the practice of the Czech primary school. Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to teach students to analyse selected didactic theories, to work with contemporary curriculum documents and to teach them to use and evaluate effective teaching methods ascertained by educational research and practice. The course provides an overview of basic problems of preparation, implementation and management of teaching. At first, students will be introduced to the problems and problems of the preparation of the lessons: definition of teaching objectives, selection of the curriculum, choice of teaching methods and didactic means. Further, the course deals with teaching and class management. The topic of evaluation will be discussed, especially the assessment of the formative use of the form of the teacher's assessment, peer review and self-evaluation. The course offers a basic insight into the issue of individualisation of teaching.
