Syllabus
The key themes of the Didactics of the 1st Grade of Elementary School II, which will enable students to mentally plan, implement and reflect the classes in primary schools and solve research-oriented didactic issues, are:
1. Safe and stimulating learning environment, effective communication, classroom rules
2. Cognitive and personality social development, development of key competences at elementary school
3. Didactic analysis of the curriculum on concrete examples, integration of content at the first level of elementary school
4. Strategies and methods of teaching, promoting socio-constructivist learning of students and personality social development: cooperative learning, project method, dramatic education
5. Management of the teaching process, differentiation strategy and individualisation of teaching
6. Formative and summative assessment of students, feedback, self-assessment
7. Alternative didactic concepts and innovative programs for primary school
8. Didactic competence of teacher of elementary school in the set of professional competencies of a teacher. Quality of teaching as a sign of quality school
Annotation
The aim of this course is to lead students to understand key and other deepening professional didactic knowledge. The aim is also to guide students to use didactic knowledge for the development of professional competence and the research of selected didactic problems. The course follows the topics introduced in Didactics of the 1st grade of Elementary School I and the practical experience of planning, realisation and reflection of teaching activities in Teaching Practice II. It also opens up completely new didactic themes and introduces didactic knowledge into context with other knowledge (especially peducational and psychological in the historical, comparative and school-political context), which influence the teaching process at elementary school.
